On July 26, 1959, one month after the disaster, a Mass of suffrage for the victims of the plane crash was celebrated by parson Don Aldo Zecchin in the Prepositural St. Stephen and Lawrence church of Olgiate Olona: the Municipality invited the relatives of the victims and diplomats from the consulate in Milan of Countries of origin of the victims.
During the celebration of June 26, 1960 in the first anniversary of the disaster, people from Olgiate Olona, representatives of Municipality, Italian Red Cross, Police and Firemen gathered for praying and laid wreaths and bouquets of flowers in the place where the plane crashed; some families of the victims sent flowers. A memorial stone with a cross and the following epigraph was placed by the Municipality of Olgiate Olona in the area where the fuselage of the Super Constellation crashed: “A mesto ricordo della grave sciagura aerea qui verificatasi il 26 giugno 1959. Comune di Olgiate Olona. Provvisorio” (translation: “In memory of serious air disaster here occurred on June 26, 1959. Municipality of Olgiate Olona. Temporary”).
Every June 26 since 1960 a Mass of suffrage for the victims of the plane crash was organized by the Municipality and the Prepositural St. Stephen and Lawrence church of Olgiate Olona headed by mayor Carlo Ferrari and parson Don Aldo Zecchin.
On August 2, 1964, - on the fifth anniversary of the disaster - the memorial monument in memory of the plane crash of June 26, 1959, was inaugurated and blessed: it is a huge block of concrete raised in the air symbolizing a big wing of an aircraft, with a cross and the following epigraph: “Sugli estinti non sorge fiore ove non sia d’umane lodi onorato e d’amoroso pianto” taken from a verse of Ugo Foscolo’s poem Dei sepolcri (meaning: memory of dead needs to be honored with human praise and tears of love).
